ZOOM 2021 – A DIGITAL POETRY FESTIVAL
We are proud to invite you to join us online Tuesday October 19 at 7 pm for the digital poetry festival Zoom 2021. It is arranged by Oslo Internasjonale Poesifestival – our partner in the cross-Nordic Poetry Festival Opbrud. You can find the live transmission on Facebook.
It’s the second year in a row that Zoom goes live with poetic contributions and reflections from the 12 nordic poets:
Johannnes Anyuru (SE)
Sumaya Jirde Ali (NO)
Ghayath Almadhoun (PL/SE)
Caroline Bergvall (FR/NO)
Sara Garib (SE)
Mara Lee (SE)
Maja Lee Langvad (DK)
Aka Aviana Mørch-Pedersen (GL)
Adrian Pereira (FI)
Synnøve Persen (NO)
Elias Sadaq (DK).
The participants work with a variety of different practises such as slam, performance, digital, and traditional poetry, and will present their individual poetic content and reflections regarding the term racism and its position in 2021.
How is it embodied in their mindset and poetry? The chosen participants will address social, political, economic, and cultural questions in their own way. The format makes it possible to communicate personal as well as universal testimonies of different kinds and will touch upon important subjects such as class, race, immigration, gender, etc.
The festival is fully digital and will be streamed live from Melahuset in Oslo. The producers of the event are Birgit Hatlehol and Sumaya Jirde Al. During the evening there will also be live features from the multi-instrumentalist Kouame Sereba which will be a part of certain poems and contributions from chosen poets.
