ARTIST

YONG SUN GULLACH

Yong Sun Gullach is a Korean-Danish artist and activist operating at the boundaries of performance, poetry, film, music, noise and installation art. Her main themes investigate disruptions and disorientation as she unfolds the aesthetics of the expressions and narrations that are embedded in-between the body, the sound and the objects.

Gullach uses the performative language to investigate how aesthetics can disorientate and challenge the linear norm – to stage how the body becomes the political bearer. Gullach investigates the gaze. Being seen as a stagnant form – already defined, instead of being seen as a body that continues to experience. By questioning the body’s presence and display it as a body, that experience pain, balance vs. imbalance and mobility vs. movement. Gullach offers the audience a momentary disorientation, from where a new narration is presented.
